Can I Sue My Dentist For Negligence And Win? He Did 2 Root Canals Last Year And I Had To Have Them Redone.?

He has since sold his practice and upon searching his name online I have found out there are around 20+ people who have filed complaints against him for fraud, abuse, negligence and not keeping accurate records. He was abusive toward me and his staff, and refused to return calls. He prescribed me about 10 vicodin prescriptions when I moved away and said his work was fine. He recently sold his practice and I have been told he is “out of the country” countless times. I can’t get sleep at night because I feel like he did something very wrong. I am not the type to go off suing people, but this man should surely have to pay me back, right? I would like to know if this case is worth pursuing. It has not been quite a year yet, and I now live in a different state. Please, any help from people who are familiar with dental malpractice, please give me some input.

Consult an attorney where you live to find out if you have a case. Most of them give free consultations. Look for them in the yellow pages or get a referral.

I am sure you have some legal remedies here but to be sure contact an attorney. There may already be a class action suit against him. If he has sold and moved out of country for real you p[probably will not be able to collect anything. However the judge and court may pull his license and he will not be able to practice.

You need to calm down. You’ll waste a lot of money if you sue because you’re mad at him. It should be a cold, dispassionate decision based on facts. To have a chance to win a suit you’ll have to prove that his treatment was improper, outside the standard of care. A bad outcome is something that normally happens on occasion and isn’t a reason for a suit. If you can show that his work was done improperly, then you might have a case, but what damages would you get? Have him pay for the repeat? Is it worth it financially, or just emotionally?
